Malinda Nicholson Shabazz has been a Childcare Instructor for 27 years. She have been blessed with the opportunity and pleasure to work with students ranging from age 2 to school age. She enjoys the energy of the students and it is a true joy of mine watching each child learning. Her hearts desire is for each child to remember that everything she have poured into them was done with LOVE.
Anthony Malone, known to the children as Mr. Tony, is our Virtual Learning Extraordinaire. He is a native of Petersburg, VA and a graduate of Petersburg High School, class of 2007. Along with bringing 12+ years of experience to the the table, Mr. Tony's goal for each and every child he encounters is simple. He strives to ensure every child feels loved, safe, confident in themselves, and knows they are important. Respect will be given as well as expected.
His three main focuses are (1) Education, (2) Respect, and (3) Fun! These will be his main foundational building blocks while working with children at the Shaping Up Your Future Child Development Academy.
Keyan Malone is a Lead Floater at Shaping Up Our Future Children Development Academy. He is a 2009 graduate of Petersburg High School and has served as a teacher aide for 11 years. He is currently enrolled in childcare training courses to increase his understanding in child development. Aside from childcare, Keyan continues to improve as an individual and strives to do his very best in all he does. Most importantly, he is here to help children learn while still having fun.
Lisa Malone is a lead teacher of the 4-Early 5 year old group at Shaping Up Our Future Child Development Academy.
She have over 30 years of experience working with children in a center based child care center. She have always had a passion for working with young children. Lisa knows that it is what she was born to do and believes that all children deserve to have a happy, safe and secure educational environment to learn and develop in. By providing such an environment, students will be ready to take on the next new stages of life and continue to be lifelong learners.
Lisa is the proud mother of three adult children and 5 grandchildren. In her free time, she enjoys reading, watching documentaries about history, and spending time with family. One of her favorite childcare quotes is from Harry Edwards: “We must teach our children to dream with their eyes open.”
